TT Chehalis visit 8/09

We've had a good visit here in Chehalis. My sister Nancy stopped by as she and Lonnie were visiting in Longview. Roger and I took a side trip to Mt. St. Helens, and saw the various visitors centers . The Johnston Ridge visitors center has a great movie and awesome views up close and personal of the mountain. The Touttle River looks like a trickle from the visitors center, but the mud flows, downed trees (or what's left of their stumps) gives you a real sense of what happened when the mountain went off!

We were visited by a family of deer several times in the perserve. We are on our way back to Puyallup tomorrow.
Happy trails......

Visit to Seaview/Long Beach WA

We arrived at the TT Long Beach perserve 8/3. We rode and walked the paved dunes trail just outside the park a couple of different days. We also took a trip to Nachott and Oysterville. You can see from photos the weather was typical WA style, some days less than Sunny... but really great for sightseeing and getting about. We also played golf and read a lot. No tv reception in this perserve so we relied on our Kindles and 'puter for indoor entertainment.
We visited Ilwaco Saturday Market, which is where the photo of flowers was taken. Also bought crab cakes there.
Photos of the oysterboat was taken in Oysterville, and we watched a barge take out a Heap of oyster shells to deposit back in the bay. The photo of headlands is Cape Disappointment. This is a great place to visit, without the crowds of Long Beach proper.
We may not be fans of oysters, but we had a lot of clam chowder and fish while we were here.
Happy trails.
